Jenoptik Optical Systems, LLC, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance optical solutions, announces the expansion of its manufacturing operations in Florida. Jenoptik opened a new ISO 14644 Class 5 clean room with state-of-the-art filtration technology for high-precision optical assemblies to support applications with demanding cleanliness requirements like semiconductor and space flight instrumentation.
Germ Killing Robots Use UV radiation Killing Microorganisms
Germ-killing robots are being enlisted to further safeguard Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) patients from health care-associated infections. The robots will be deployed in selected inpatient areas, starting this month with the burn unit at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital.
Large Nanofacility at the University of Chicago
The Pritzker Foundation provided a generous a $15 million gift to develop the 10,000 square foot large nanofacility for the University of Chicago. The National Science Foundation provided an additional $5 million to establish the Soft and Hybrid Nanotechnology Experimental Resource, a partnership between UChicago and Northwestern University.
