EdgeX Inc. Launches Sense8 and Visual USP Applications for Environmental Monitoring
EdgeX Inc. Announces Commercial Launch of Sense8 and Visual USP Applications for Environmental Monitoring
EdgeX, Inc. has unveiled the commercial debut of two groundbreaking applications designed for environmental monitoring. The first, Sense8, diligently monitors and logs temperature, humidity, and pressure differentials crucial for maintaining regulatory compliance in operating rooms and pharmacy cleanrooms. The second, Visual USP, streamlines documentation processes for essential tasks and staff competencies, specifically tailored to ensure compliance with USP 797/800 regulations.
In a significant leap forward, EdgeX emerges as the sole USP compliance solution provider to seamlessly integrate real-time environmental monitoring data directly into documentation software. This integration is made possible through the innovative wireless EdgeX Network, marking a milestone in efficiency and automation for USP 797/800 compliance procedures.
Dr. William Akrawi, MD, an anesthesiologist at Mission Viejo Surgery Center, extolled the virtues of the EdgeX Network, emphasizing its role in enhancing patient care through continuous surveillance, predictive analytics, and an accountability framework.
EdgeX sets itself apart by offering the only Real-Time Location System (RTLS) network that necessitates no initial capital expenditure during installation. The data transmission occurs securely via a private, wire-free cellular backhaul, minimizing the strain on hospital IT resources. The installation process is streamlined, requiring only simple peel-and-stick tracking tags and anchor nodes. Remarkably, the EdgeX Network can be fully deployed within hours without the need for extensive cabling or wiring.
EdgeX is the only USP compliance solution provider to fully integrate live environmental monitoring data directly into documentation software
Looking ahead, Tim Gibbons, CEO of EdgeX, envisions an array of forthcoming healthcare solutions empowered by smart RTLS technology. Plans are already underway for future solutions encompassing asset management, inventory tracking, and comprehensive patient and staff monitoring.
