Honda Aircraft Company Opens New Wing Production Facility
Honda Aircraft Company announced today that it has begun operations at its newly opened Wing Production and Service Parts Facility, located at the company’s world headquarters at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, N.C. The new 83,100 square-foot facility is the latest addition to the 133-acre Honda Aircraft Company campus, and represents an additional investment of $24.3 million, bringing the total capital investment in its North Carolina facilities to more than $245 million.
Mars Rover Chassis Updates
In mid-April 2018, more than 20 freshly machined, large, shiny chunks of 7050 and 7075 aluminum that would make up the primary structure of the chassis were collected in a cleanroom in Building 18 at JPL, along with about a hundred smaller secondary parts.

Galileo Satellite Navigation System Satellites Arrival
Galileo Satellite Navigation System Satellites have arrived at Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, ahead of their planned launch from the jungle space base in July. But Galileo satellites will continue to be launched into the future: a further 12 Galileo ‘Batch 3’ satellites were ordered last June, supplementing the 26 built so far to provide further in-orbit spares, and replacements for the oldest Galileo satellites, first launched in 2011.
